The Fifth String

brought them together

Vivaldi, beneath his bow

weakened her knees.

He found his foot tapping

as she fiddled Murray’s Reel

or The Red Hair Boy.

They never learned to

merge their styles

or to play in harmony.

The reels became redundant

The classical stuffy

The fifth string their undoing.
