Ben Hecht (1893 - 1964)

Ben Hecht was the author of 35 books and wrote for 70 films (Twentieth Century, Some Like It Hot, Notorious, His Girl Friday, etc.).  He worked as a Chicago reporter and collected his periodical stories into his breakthrough book 1001 Afternoons In Chicago.
