A Certain Shade of Loneliness

Loneliness cannot be white.  Since white dictates lack of color, loneliness
is grouped even further apart from bright white and the primary colors of
life's satisfactory nectar.  It's true friends: depression, sorrow, etc.
Loneliness to this group is a cousin who lacks strong communication skills.
Furthermore, loneliness has got to be some mixture of a depressive,
searching black and a colorless, uninterested white.  In turn, this suggests
a shade of grey.  Better yet, a silvery "grey".

Awakened

Ladybugs gather at my windowsill peacefully but search for a nighttime
light.  While I, asleep, try to protect my dreams from escape & premature
end, the flap of their wings and crawling buzz awakens me.  But, my love of
nature is put aside momentarily as I squash the ladybugs shortly after
turning the light on to find them.  Nothing but a sober, unscheduled
derangement of the senses (like a dreamful sleep) deserves such cold,
careless, and negative attention.  Thus, I feel no remorse and attempt to
re-enter the dream world without success.
